It’s National Poetry Month!

In April, we celebrate the art of poetry.

According to sources, Poetry predates written text. The earliest poetry is believed to have been developed as a way to remember history, genealogy, and law. It is also closely related to musical traditions, given its rhythmic nature.

The art form made further changes with the advent of writing. And it continues to evolve, even to this day, as we continually discover new methods of communication and cultural preservation.

We encourage you to read up on the history of poetry, if you’re interested.
